When I realised the importance of Agnihotra, I started performing Agnihotra at my home in 1980, but pure quality cow dung cakes were not available. This made my mind to start thinking, if I could start business for manufacturing pure quality cow dung cakes for Agnihotra. And in 1982, I purchased a cow (Indian – original breed) and started making cow dung cakes in round shape. That time only few people were performing Agnihotra in Satara City (Maharashtra, India). I started providing cow dung cakes to those people. As time passed, many people started doing Agnihotra and the demand for the cakes increased. So, I increased the production.
That time the publicity of Agnihotra (which can be done at home by anyone) was so high in Satara City. This made Agnihomi (people who perform Agnihotra) from nearby Satara city to come Satara. Where they came to know about Cow Dung Cakes for Agnihotra and day by day the demand for the cakes increased. Similarly, I increased the Production.
In 1991, I came to know that the shape of cakes which was thick and big in size making it difficult to place it in Agni Patra (Copper Vessel used for Agnihotra). Also, it was difficult to break in same size. Taking this in to consideration, in 1992, we started making cow dung cakes in biscuit shape (rectangular) and in bit smaller size which need not required to break and were convenient to placing in Agni Patra. The shape and quality increased the demand from all over Maharashtra and Goa. Production too increased. Today we are distributing cow dung cakes all over India and indirectly, out of India also.
Till know our products were identified by the name of owner i.e. made by Mr. Mali. As the demand for our cow dung cakes has increased outstandingly, we have created a new brand named YADNIYA means the thing which is highly pure, sacred, pious, holy, godly, ready to sacrifice, etc. The name YADNIYA directly or indirectly relates to the Cow which is considered as highly pure, sacred, holy, godly, etc. in India.
